OUR LIFE TOGETHER

Make plans to attend our special Ash Wednesday evening service this week, on Feb. 22 at 7:00 p.m.

Please come out on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and help with our church cleaning ministry. Elisabeth Lloyd is taking a maternity leave from cleaning nights, and we can use more helpers. In her absence, Bruce Kennedy and Van Gower are leading this ministry and can direct you. Please thank them for stepping up in this way.

The International Federation of L’Arche Communities, a global organization that provides opportunities for men and women with disabilities to interact fully within their communities with dignity, seeks volunteer families to host delegates from around the world during the weekend preceding its next General Assembly, which takes place June 3-10. This is a great opportunity to share cultures and faiths, and to make new friends from other countries. Go to http://atlanta.larche.org and click on the “Families” link for more information and to sign up.

Action Ministries Breakthru House (http://breakthru.actionministries.net) – a Decatur-based faith organization that empowers women suffering from addiction to experience physical, emotional, and spiritual recovery – needs volunteers for a wide range of activities and ministries. To get involved, contact Allison Blum, Development Manager, at 404-284-4658 or ablum@actionministries.net.

Katie Coleman has volunteered to coordinate a card ministry for those who have prayer requests, need encouragement, are having surgery, and more. If you would like to assist with this ministry, please contact Katie at katiefcoleman@gmail.com.

Would you like to get to know a neighbor who is homeless? Want to help someone get connected to the larger community? Care Teams with Intown Collaborative Ministries are your opportunity! Each Care Team consists of 2-3 persons from area churches that are assigned to one homeless client of ICM, getting together once a month and getting to know one another. Activities can include lunch, coffee, conversation, games, walks and exercise, and more. Please contact Maria Carr at maria@intowncm.org if you are interested!

Eastside Church has grown a lot in our first seven months, and we want to continue growing. Please invite your family, friends, and neighbors, and co-workers to a worship service or one of our many activities.

The Eastside Church arts group meets at 6:30 p.m. for creative activities including painting, crafting, and writing. For more info, to be added to the arts group email updates, or to suggest creative disciplines, contact Tyler Jackson (tyler@eastsideatl.org) or Natalie Jackson (natalie@eastsideatl.org). Stick around to hear our worship band practice at 7:00; afterward, the band often heads out to a nearby pub or restaurant, and all are invited to join them. Invite your friends!
