What’s Happening This Week – August 18th, 2013

Join us next Sunday at 11am as we continue our Upside Down Kingdom series. In this series, we’re engaging Jesus’ challenging, difficult, and surprising teaching on the Sermon on the Mount. Our Lead Pastor Timothy Lloyd will explore Matthew 7:13-14 “The Narrow Way.” Don’t forget that if you’ve missed any sermons, you can catch up with our podcasts or sermon videos.

SCRIPTURE INTERPRETATION CLASS // Meets four Saturdays this fall at 10am at the church // Sept. 14th, Oct. 12th, Nov. 9th, Dec 7th // David Carr will teach this class on basic scripture interpretation // This is a great opportunity for anyone who’d like to learn more about reading & interpreting our sacred text // Cost is $20 & registration is required by Sept 7th // Register here // Contact David with questions: fd.carr@gmail.com

LA GONAVE HAITI PARTNERSHIP // Oct. 12-19 an exploratory team will go to the island of La Gonave to learn more about how we can join in the work of the partnership between the people of La Gonave, the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti, & US partners // More information coming soon about collecting items for birth kits for the team members to bring with them

MEAL MINISTRY // When people experience big life events, the church community provides meals for the families // We’ve successfully provided many meals in the past but would like to update our email list so we can continue to sustain this growing ministry // Contact Brit Eyster if you’ like to bless the community in this way – brit.eyster(at)gmail.com
