Weekly News
Thanks to everyone who attended and helped out with our second annual Vacation Bible School! It was a great week with 26 kids attending. We also had 12 adult volunteers and 7 Oak Grove youth come down to help. Special thanks to Lani Martz for all of her hard work!
Women’s group kick off at the home of Roxanne Melendez June 29th at 7:30. There will be light appetizers and great fellowship. Please contact Roxanne by email at roxanniemarie@hotmail.com if you are able to attend or if you would like to be involved with the women’s ministry. She can let you know what to bring!
As always, we need help on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30 to clean the church in preparation for worship. There is a sign up sheet at the coffee bar for those able to contribute. This is an easy way to serve as well as to get connected with others in the church.
Eastside Church Arts Ministry is helping to start a public library in Ghana this year! We are seeking to collect as many books as possible by this October. The books can be any genre (and for any age), as an entire village will have access to this library.
Please go to www.eastsideatl.org and in the upper right corner click “signup”. This will allow you to create an account with Eastside Church Community Builder. This account allows you to give online, request to join a particular small group, view volunteer opportunities and much more. NOTE: EGIVERS – you must register with OCCB for all future online giving.
If you are interested in learning more about joining an Oakhurst Small Group please contact Elisabeth Lloyd at Elisabeth@eastsideatl.org. Currently we have 5 groups that meet at various times and locations during the week. You can jump in at any time! Groups gather to fellowship, encourage one another, study scripture and pray for one another.
Our communion juice is non-fermented grape juice. Gluten free bread is available – please let your Eucharist Minister know as you approach the table and they will assist.
After worship, folks will be available in the Prayer Corner to pray for any who are in need of intercession.
