Blessing of the Backpacks July 29th

Whether you’re in school, a teacher, carpooling kids to school, or just stuck in school traffic, a new school year marks a time of change, and what better way to enter into a new season than with a time of blessing? As we at Oakhurst seek to be a blessing to our Decatur community and the East side of Atlanta, we will be collecting backpacks and school supplies for children in our community to give them the blessed start they need for the year. Because we too are members of this community and people in need of God’s presence in our year, we invite students and teachers, preschool to grad school and everyone in-between to also bring their backpacks, school bags, messenger bags, etc. to celebrate this back to school season.

When: Sunday July 29th during our 11:00 am service
What: Backpacks with school supplies– Oakhurst Elementary requested hand sanitizer, clorox wipes, and kleenex
Who: Everybody– bring a backpack to give and/or your own to be blessed as well
