When the Eastside Church Launch Team went through Church Planter’s Book Camp in April of 2011, they were taught that a year after the church launches they will need to plan to take a full month off to rest and recover from the demanding first year church planting families endure. It has been an amazing year and God has been extraordinarily good, but the Lloyd’s will be taking the last 3 weeks of July to rest, recover, and be renewed. They will be back the first week of August energized and ready to hit the ground running. Trent Lloyd will cover as Assistant Pastor in Charge working full-time in their absence. Please direct any questions, issues or pastoral care needs to him at trent@eastsideatl.org.
Please thank Keith Drew for crafting our three pieces of liturgical furniture: the pulpit, communion table and baptismal font. He has devoted countless of work to making our sanctuary feel sacred and beautiful. Consider shooting him an email at kdrew@crosslinkconsulting.com with a word of thanks.
As always, we need help on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30 to clean the church in preparation for worship. There is a sign up sheet at the coffee bar for those able to contribute. This is an easy way to serve as well as to get connected with others in the church.
Eastside Church Arts Ministry is helping to start a public library in Ghana this year! We are seeking to collect as many books as possible by this October. The books can be any genre (and for any age), as an entire village will have access to this library.
If you are interested in learning more about joining an Oakhurst Small Group please contact Elisabeth Lloyd at Elisabeth@eastsideatl.org. Currently we have 5 groups that meet at various times and locations during the week. You can jump in at any time! Groups gather to fellowship, encourage one another, study scripture and pray for one another.
