Oakhurst Church Weekly News

Eastside Church was still just a dream when Chelsey Beck generously volunteered to (on a regular basis) single handedly clean our entire building! We recently learned that Chelsey, Kloe and Cadrin will be moving to Tybee Island in a few weeks. We are throwing a going away luncheon for her family next Sunday, May 20th directly after church. Friends of the Beck family are encouraged to participate in this celebration.

Vacation Bible School is June 20-22! Please register your child ASAP online at www.eastsideatl.org/vbs2012. Please invite your friends and neighbors to enroll their kids! Please consider volunteering. To do so, please email Lani at lani@eastsideatl.org.

Eastside Church Arts Ministry is helping to start a public library in Ghana this year! We are seeking to collect as many books as possible by this October. The books can be any genre (and for any age), as an entire village will have access to this library.

If you did not receive a copy of our 2012 Eastside Church Financial Letter with attached budget, and you would like to be aware of our fiscal situation, please email tim@eastsideatl.org with your mailing address and one will be sent ASAP.

Please go to www.eastsideatl.org and in the upper right corner click “signup”. This will allow you to create an account with Eastside Church Community Builder. This account allows you to give online, request to join a particular small group, view volunteer opportunities and much more. NOTE: EGIVERS – you must register with OCCB for all future online giving.

If you are interested in being a part of our Eastside Church Prayer Team, please email tim@eastsideatl.org. This team will be given the prayer requests gathered in worship on Sunday mornings, and will commit to praying for these throughout the week.

As always, we need help on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30 to clean the church in preparation for worship. There is a sign up sheet at the coffee bar for those able to contribute. This is an easy way to serve as well as to get connected with others in the church.

If you are interested in learning more about joining an Oakhurst Small Group please contact Elisabeth Lloyd at Elisabeth@eastsideatl.org. Currently we have 5 groups that meet at various times and locations during the week. You can jump in at any time! Groups gather to fellowship, encourage one another, study scripture and pray for one another.
