Get Involved: Community EAV Events

On Saturday, April 12th, Eastside Church will be volunteering to help the East Atlanta Kid’s Club as they hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10:00 am.

Want to help with this egg-cellent egg hunt? There are four ways this week:

  1. Bring candy to Brownwood Recreation Center, 602 Brownwood Ave, between 11-6 this Monday and Tuesday.
  2. Come to Brownwood Recreation Center Wednesday between 1-6 to help stuff 1,000 eggs
  3. Bring a dozen boiled eggs to Brownwood Recreation Center Friday, 1-5, or Saturday, 9-10.
  4. Come out the day of and represent our church as we help bring some fun to area kids.

Starting at 12:00 pm there will be art and craft activities for adults and children, including face painting, games and a craft supply drive. Please bring any unwanted crafting and art materials including fabric, yarn, scrapbook paper, and recyclables like newspaper, egg cartons, tissue rolls, greeting cards and cereal boxes. The collected materials will be donated to local art teachers.

For more fun afterwards the first East Atlanta Community Association (EACA) Brownwood Frolic of the year will start at 12:00pm, and at 1:00pm the Atlanta Fringe Festival (www.atlantafringe.org) will host an art scavenger hunt and other fun activities!

The Fringe Festival activities will include an art relay and the art scavenger hunt. If you would like to donate an art piece for the scavenger hunt, please drop it off at the Brownwood Recreation Center by Friday, April 11.

For those that wish to volunteer in any manner or have questions please contact Lewis Cartee at [email protected].
